My Art: Fragmented Beauty

2012-10-30

This is one of a few pieces I created out of fragments of waste paper. This one in particular was created from hole punched magazines. I used these particular materials knowing that magazines (especially beauty and entertainment) contain reflections of what we consider and look up to as the model of beauty, yet the truth is that, even in the best case scenario,  they only reflect a part of a fragmented idea of what true beauty really means. “True beauty is found not in a reflection in a mirror, but in the reflection of one’s soul”. Cheers.
